After having won numerous awards and competitions, North Wood, at the age of twenty-three, won the concertmaster position (1st chair) of the prestigious YMF Debut Orchestra conducted by world renowned conductor and motion Picture composer, Lalo Schifrin (Mission Impossible, Mannix, The Three Tenors) and guest conductor, John Williams (Star Wars, Boston Pops, Schindlers List). This honor placed him in the upper echelon of top young instrumentalists in the western region. Since then he has won competitions, performed major violin concertos with symphony orchestras, performed and recorded with Grammy Award winning artists, performed on the soundtracks to Academy Award winning movies, performed on the soundtracks to over two hundred major motion pictures and has appeared on seventeen television programs discussing his techniques regarding the nature of talent and achievement. For twenty years his ideas and techniques have helped major corporations and associations reach their goals and find success.

“Before becoming a full time speaker, I worked as a certified clinical therapist helping people reach their goals. This experience along with universal methods that come with mastering the mental and physical skills required to become a highly skilled violinist has lead me to a clear understanding of what techniques work and which do not. I use only the techniques that have been proven successful through first hand experience and through the experiences of those I have helped.

As a professional violinist for over thirty years, I also know of the failures and disappointments on the road to success. I believe that for one to achieve true success on all levels, there must be a broad and comprehensive understanding of exactly what to expect on the journey and how to deal with failure when it inevitably occurs. Many people give up too soon because they have not been prepared for these disappointments. I believe that knowledge is the greatest “technique” of all.”
